January 1st is completely arbitrary. The calendar turning over means nothing. You could start your transformation on March 17th or August 3rd or any random Tuesday.
But you won't.
You've been telling yourself you could start anytime for the past three years. You're still here.
The cynics love to point out that New Year's resolutions are a joke. That the date is meaningless. That you don't need some collective tradition to make changes.
They're right about the first part. Wrong about the conclusion.
