The Compass Within

The Compass Within

How Core Values Guide You to Your Best Life

Let's face it, our world is changing rapidly and has been over the past decade. But now more than ever. I've started to notice a significant shift over the past few years. More and more people are awakening from a reality that seemed to be manufactured and are now seeing the world with newfound clarity. This awakening is accelerating, and now, more than ever, we must take the time to reflect on our true values. These values will act as your compass, guiding you through tough times and helping you chart a course that aligns with your deepest desires and goals.

Understanding your true values can be very difficult. It's a project that requires deep introspection and truth with oneself, despite the constant noise and distractions of daily life. But this effort is worth the price. When you identify and embrace your core values, they become a powerful tool to navigate life's challenges and achieve your goals.

The Power of Reflection

To truly uncover your values, I suggest removing yourself from all outside information sources in order to truly discover your values. If possible, unplug from social media, the news, and other sources for a few days or even a week. Use this time to think about yourself, your desires, and your goals. Reflect on what is truly important to you as an individual. This period of isolation and introspection will help clarify your thoughts and sharpen your focus.

Steps to Discovering Your True Values

Disconnect to Centre: Start by cutting off all information and stimuli for a set period. This could be a weekend retreat or even just a few days at home in solitude. The key is to create a space where you can hear your own thoughts without external influence. This is very difficult for some, who would do anything to not be left alone with that voice in your head.

Reflect Deeply: During this time, engage in deep reflection. Ask yourself probing questions: What are my core beliefs? What principles do I want to live by? What are my deepest desires and goals? Write down your thoughts and revisit them regularly.

Identify Patterns: Look for patterns in your reflections. What themes keep recurring? These patterns often point to your underlying values. For instance, if you repeatedly think about helping others, generosity might be one of your core values.

Seek Alignment: Once you've identified your values, examine how well your current life aligns with them. Are you living in a way that honours your values? If not, consider what changes you need to make.
